Originally, we planned to try out this place during a chinese new year gather, but we ended up at Loy Sum Juan at Tiong Bahru Plaza instead. So last night, we decided to give it a try as there seems to be some pretty positive reviews about this place quite a while back, and even my mum and relative went there before and found the food there pretty good.
When we reach there around 630pm, the place was pretty empty. This restaurant is located at the void deck of a hdb, while deco is simple, but definitely better than your usual coffee shop though.
Since this was our first time at the place, we decided to just order their promotional set meal for 2 ($28.80). The set came with the following dishes :
1. Braised shark's fin soup with shredded chicken
2. Steam cod first in "traditional" style
3. Stewed dried scallop with brocolli
4. Fried chicken with marinated young ginger
5. EE-fu noodle with abalone sauce
Total bill inclusive of towels and 3 drinks came up to $33.20.
The shark fin soup was not too bad, though I dun seem to find much shredded chicken though. The chicken was probably the best dish I like. It is sort of like honey chicken, and the skin is pretty crispy. The brocolli also came with quite a bit of dried scallops too. As for the cod fish, the fish is firm and not too flaky and it is cooked with the black fungus. However, the ee fu noodle is a bit bland though. The portion for each dish is quite small too. So for big eaters, it might not be enough I feel.
Overall, I did not find the food here very fantastic, just average. In fact, I thought the food at Loy Sum Juan to be better though. Given the price of the set, dun expect the quality of the food to be very high.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
