As I never check before going to to ABC Brickworks Food Centre yesterday, was disappointed when we found out this claypot rice was closed every Wednesday when we were there. So determined to check it out again, we drop by here again to try out this claypot rice, as it seems to be highly rated too by the online community.
Before we came, my friend called up to order first, so when we were there, our claypot rice was served pretty fast, like less than 5 minutes. When we were there, saw there were quite a few tables also ordered the claypot rice.
We ordered a 2 person portion, which was $10. We also ordered a soup, which was surprising cheap at just $2!
So how's this claypot rice compared to the famous ones at Clementi, Golden Mile and Le Chasseur (opposite The Central)? Well, one significant difference I noticed is at the other places, the usually give ya the soya sauce and oil separately for ya to add and mix, whereas here, it is all pour for ya already, so when you get ya claypot rice, you only need to stir it to mix it properly.
Taste wise, I would say all 4 is pretty comparable, and this one is probably closer to the style of Clementi and Golden Mile one, though I think the latter might just taste a little better (probably because I get the choice to decide how much soya sauce and oil I want to add?). However, Golden Mile one does not offered boiled soup, and the soup at Clementi is also more expensive, so this place have a slight edge in terms of pricing or value for money. Worth mentioning is the fruit juice stall nearby sells the fruit juice pretty cheap too. A big glass for orange juice goes for only $1.80 or $2 I think.
Overall, I feel the claypot rice here is pretty good and coupled with the soup, makes it quite a value for money meal.
PS : While we were there, we also notice a chicken rice stall at the corner which seems to have lots of awards paste on the stall front, and I think I saw someone eating, seems to look quite nice too.

hmm...been there awhile back...but i dun remember they only use chicken wing for the meat though. Looking at the photos seems some parts like from the breast meat though. I guess you can always try give them a call and make a reservation before you go down, and specifically request for breast meat maybe?

I remember they only use chicken wings for their claypot rice, still the same? The rice is quite tasty, just that I would prefer breast meat.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
