Came here again for dinner today. Decided to try out the western food today. Actually I noticed this western food the first time I was there. I noticed quite a few people eating the western food served on a black plate, but did not find where it is until my friend told me it was at the back row last trip.
My friend ordered a chicken chop ($5), while I ordered a sping chicken set ($7) and a chicken cheese sausage ($2). Note in the phot, my spring chicken sides were actually served on the chicken cheese sausage instead. Order did not take very long before they were served. When the cheese sausage was served, my friend was saying should just order that enough already, no need a chicken chop. The chicken sausage set alone is $4. Then came my friend chicken chop and my spring chicken. The chicken chop portion is HUGE! The chicken chop came with bake beans, fries and coleslaw. The portion of coleslaw given is also quite huge, sort of like half a bowl of rice! Overall, I think this is the most value for money chicken chop I've ever eaten! The spring chicken size was normal, but like portion of the sides was very generous. The chicken cheese sausage was also huge and pretty nice too.
Overall, the food here is pretty good (I think it deserves a 3.5 star) and definitely deserves a 4 star for value for money. The auntie there was actually quite friendly. After we more or less "finish" our meals (well, we could not finish all due to the portion), the auntie came over and asked if we liked the food. She also quite surprised we ordered that much. Saw a familyof 4 beside us just ordered 2 sets to share. :)

Friend ordered the chicken cutlet from here yesterday. Tried some of it, pretty good. As usual, the portion of salad is a lot!

I like their ice-cold coleslaw. Not very happy with the Fish & Chips though.

In Singapore, not too hard to find good dim sum, it is cheap and good that's hard to find...hahaha...
So far, for cheap and good, I think Yan Palace get my vote. :)

I'm not crazy about song fish head, but I'm very particular about the food freshness & tastiness, esp for seafood, freshness is very important to me. ^o^

I think their high tea buffet is around $18+++ if not wrong. Unless one eats a lot, else might be cheaper to eat ala carte at yan palace or something.

If ya like song fish head, I think ya should give the one at Albert Street temporary food centre (next to bugis mrt) a try. When I pass by or grab my meals there, I always see old couples ordering the fish head there. :)
As for chinatown, there's so many stalls selling that dish, frankly, I'm not sure which is the best one there though :)
