Liew Lian *The End*
That's it. Do or die. Since this is the last review on durians, might as well give it all. what do you do with 50kg of fresh durian, dropped in the morning and transported from Malaysia behind a car boot? You Eat like Mad and hope you don't get diabetes. And yes All are organic XO or Mao SHan Wang. I Have yet to finish all as you can see, I took some time to open one and this is the first durian that has the Strongest alcohol taste that it kinda numbs your tongue. Anyway, just to share, Malaysia's durians are the best, no water vapor in the flesh since its fresh and Mao Shan Wang is Bitter as hell and the seeds are relatively Small.
Flesh wise, i can sink my teeth and cannot find a seed except a chunk of creamy flesh in my mouth. 3 of it and i had enough for the day.
I have about 15 more to go. Congrats. Enjoy and i will continue to post if i am still alive.
And nothing beats eating at home.
Free btw. overflowing in some plantations. :D

Novotel Buffet Lunch/High Tea
Think majority of the hotels have changed their timing such that lunch is all the way till 5 and high tea is somehow "merged" into it.Anyway, happen to browse around online and found out this ad. Pretty cheap so we decided to go visit the place! restaurant's located on 7th floor. amazing view and deco of the place. Food was...not very appealing though. sad. you have your chilli crab with buns, cheese platter counter, fondue and i only find the drinks interesting because they have slurpee made of real juice! So ok the finger snacks wasn't that nice but desserts make up for it! pretty decent cakes and i would say the self made pocky sticks fondue was nice, with the free flow sweet grapes and cakes. Enjoy :)
Edit: the picture wrote 20 bucks but when we went there it was 30++ maybe because they merged with lunch so yeah we ended up paying 70ish:)

Liew lian *durian* sequel
Call me a durian addict, i don't really care because the durian withdrawal symptoms are back! Sometimes you just crave for that piece of silky yet rich and smooth flesh in your mouth, that semi bitter sweet feeling that gives you a tingling sensation in your tongue. That's durian.
This time i was craving for any durian, ANY Kinds of durian. D24,D14,Red prawn whatever it is. so i happen to come across this humble fruit store that sells selected and limited number of durians, the D13 and D14.
there's make shift tables beside a bus stop as well.(free advertising) and a pail of water to wash you hands. Many foreign workers DA PAO away though.
Durian was more on the bitter side and if you feel like gorging with a lot of durians or you intend to keep in the fridge and slowly enjoy it the next day, this is the place. a huge packet for just $2, and the highest at $5 which i would say, quantity matters. D13/14 was good though.Price wise i would say its reasonable, the uncle opened another one when my dad complained it wasn't good.(See, its the bias thing again)
so, i have managed to conquer the D13/D14/D24/Red prawn. Now i am left with the MAO SHAN WANG!

Durian! Chong Pang!
Yes Durian again!
This time i went back to Chong Pang *Yishun* to give the uncles another chance!every since they conned me a few years ago, i decided to go back.
But this time round, it didn't disappoint! The uncle let you taste one of the durian that he opened before letting you decide! so yes, no disappointment. and he claims you can bring back and exchange if its bad. but o well
i tried D24 at 5 for one. it was yes sweet. Mao shan was $18/kg although the board wrote $22/kg.
there's also a huge group of uncle + aunties sniffing at the 6 for $10 bucks durians. Hobby i guess.
Ok anyway ambiance wise, i used to eat at the coffeshop beside the durian shop (its allowed if you order drinks)
but this time round they set up makeshift tables with TISSUE boxes! hah 1 up.
So yes hurry hurry the durian season ends at end of AugusT!

LIEW LIAN! *Durian*
Well, the durian season is here and like what my dad said, prices of durian has been dropping like mad so now's the time to eat your hearts out!
Also known as "King of Fruits", the fruit is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk.
So i decided to give Bugis street a try and voila!
Theres a 6 for $10, 3 for $20, $8 for 1 red meat, $5 for 1 red meat and the MAO SHAN WANG at $15.
I took the $5 for a try and yep it was worth it!Red flesh durian that's worth its price! Durian was Sweet, riped and not too dry, thick enough to leave you asking for more. there were some "Jiu Jis"?"(seedless) ones as well so all in all it was worth it!
Sitting by the roadside can be pretty interesting, you get to see all the trishaw riders and all the aunties and uncles feasting their durians on make shift tables and chairs. There's a barrel to clean your hands ,or you can try eating with a pair of chopsticks.hah
Although the uncle can be a little rude, the durian was worth it!At least i wasn't conned into buying some unriped durian. Plus i don't think you can eat the same kind of durian in the Northern part of Singapore ( Chong Pang ) for this kind of price.:D
Think i will be eating more this 2 weeks!Hurry before its over!Mao Shan Wang incoming!
