Been reading quite a bit about this place, and supposedly this restaurant served quite a mean ramen. I've been wanting to check out this place for quite awhile, since I pretty enjoy eating ramen. I've read this place gets crowded by around 7 in the evening, so in order to avoid the crowd, decided to make my way there for dinner around 6+ today.
When I was there, the place was probably 30% filled, but by the time I left, the place was more or less full house already.
Since it was my first time here, decided to order the black pig shabu ramen ($13.80) which was supposed to be famous and a mix sashimi ($20). Total bill came up to $39.80. Green tea is served free i believe as I do not see any additional charge other than the service charge, gst and the 2 items I ordered.
As the place was still not crowded, my food was served pretty fast. For the ramen, there's an option for spicy and non spicy. Being a typical Singaporean, decided to go with the spicy. The portion of the ramen is pretty decent, but I find the number of slices of black pig seems to be quite little though. Nevertheless, it was quite tasty, and so is the soup though the soup can be more spicy :). I won't really say this is really exceptional but is definitely quite a good ramen. The sashimi at $20, you get 3 variety of fish, and 3 slices each. The slices are actually very big and thick, and if you compare with those salmon sashi at $5 a plate a sushi tei or something, this is actually not that expensive. One slice of this is probably like 2 - 3 slices at sushi tei.
Overall, I would rate the food here a 3.5 star, and the service and ambience here is pretty decent too.
PS. There's also a reward programme, where 5 ramen gets you a free tonkatsu and 10 ramen gets ya a free sashimi. Downside is the validity is only one month when you start collecting ya chop. So unless you eat there often or eat in big group, doubt most people will able to redeem anything with this reward programme.

Hi Cybertron, today I purposely dropped by my office to try uploading photos. There is no option for me to browse and I can only choose the photos from Myphotos (Victoria station plus Suchan reviews) Wonder if I can continue to send photos to you like usual. Thanks again

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
