Came here for a very late dinner with my fren several weeks ago. Actually we dun intended to eat japanese food but seem most of the restaurant were closed and left with this.
When we reached the place, surprisingly we saw quite a number of japanese customer inside (that time was around 11pm), the waiter was very friendly and recommended us to try the Yaki Udon.
So both of us ordered the Yaki Udon and the grilled fish. The Yaki Udon was super nice!!! i like the noodles sause! (think may be because i was too hungry :P). The Yako Udon cost RM 12 each and the grilled fish cost RM 6.
Total bill came at RM 35++ (inc beverages + service charges). If you like to eat Yaki Udon and happen to be around this area, can give this a try :)

Came here to try the dim sim couple of weeks ago as i was craving for dim sum. We ordered some standard dim sum such as har gao, siew mai and of course we tried some new dish, sorry that i dunno the name for each dish but u can see from the photos :P. The hao gao was quite nice... and the dim sum i like the most the is the one got salted egg on top on meat..tat dim sum was great!!! never try this b4 . The char sao su was quite nice but cannot compare with my favourite char siew su @ yan palace. (sorry that i forgot to take photo for the char siew su)
The dim sum here quite cheap, each dish cost about RM 2-3. So far this is the best dim sum i ever had in malacca.. anyone know any good dim sum in malacca, please let me know :)

Came across many good reviews for this peranakan restaurant and always wanted to try this but most of the time, this restaurant is fully book. Last thursday we decided to give this a try again and this time we were lucky, we managed to get the seat.
We ordered Itik Tim Soup or Salted Vegetable Duck Soup (RM 20), Ayam Limau Pulut (RM 18.80), Deep fried fish with sambal (RM 48), Fried Kangkong Sambal (RM 12.50) , Otak (RM 20 for 2 pieces) and Sambal Sauce (RM 3).
The Ayam Limau Pulut was very nice..it tasted like rendang chicken and the gravy was very delicious and i think is the best chicken rendang that i ever had in malacca. The deep fried fish with sambal was nice too but not spicy enough . The fried Kang Kong was normal and sorry that i cant comment about the Otak as i dun eat Otak but according to my colleagues, they said nice.
As for the Itik Tim, i was quite dissapointed as the soup was not salty at all and i feel is quite tasteless! Dont try the Itik Tim, i dun think is worth trying.
Total bill came at RM 141.30 (after beverages + Chendol dessert). Overall, i think the food here was quite nice but i dun think i will come back again though the food is quite nice because i dun like the rude service and i think is the food price is quite expensive too..

Paradise Inn
Went there for lunch a few months ago. This is a new restaurant after the renovation of west coast plaza.
We ordered double boiled ginseng soup, sizzling toufu, pork ribs and vege with salted egg.
The dishes were quite nice espcieally the double boiled soup! You must try the double boiled soup as it was really very delivious and quite worth if you have 4 persons as the serving was quite big. The pork ribs worth to give a try also as the i feel the sauce was yummy.
The services here was quite nice and as for the ambience, it is just the normal "noisy" like that of any chinese restaurant.

Came here for late dinner with consultants a few weeks ago as it was the only restaurant (except fast food) still open during that time.
The menu for this restaurant is quite limited in choice. We ordered chicken chop (RM 10.90) , kluang laksa (RM 7.90) , asam laksa (RM 7.90) , nasi lemak (RM 3.90) and nasi lemak ayam merah (RM 8.90) . To my surprise the food was actually pretty good , especially the assam laksa!!! The assam laksa was really very delicious and i think is the best assam laska I had in Malacca!
My colleagues and consultants like their food too. Though i never try kluang laksa before, colleagues was saying it actually taste quite similiar to assam laksa but with coconut milk.
Overall, i think this is a great place for good food and the services is good. If you are fans for assam laksa and happen to be around this area, can give this a try :)

Dad loves teow chew cuisine so we came here for dinner a few weeks ago. Think this is a new restaurant so when we reached there the restaurant was full house, we waited for 20 minutes to queue and get our seat.
We ordered the set dinner meal which includes Egg & Salted Egg Vege, Deed Fried Garlic Pork Rib, Teochew Style Steam Fish, Salted Chicken, Claypot Sea Cucumber , cereal prawn and Soup of the Day.
All the dishes were nice! especially the teochew stye steam fish, it was very yummy!! The salted chicken was very delicious too.. mum like it a lot! You can either choose white rice or white porridge and the rice or porridge is free flow.
Total bill came at around $140++...(after tax and service charge). THough the price was slight expensive but i think is worth it as the food here really good!

Came here for dinner a few months ago (sorry for late posting). If i didnt remember wrongly, this restaurant win the best restaurant 2008 in malacca. When we arrived there around 8m, it was almost full, we waited quite a while to get our seat.
We ordered Fried Asparagus with XO paste (RM 14), Bitter Ground Soup (RM 8), Garlic Chicken Wing (RM10) and Steam Cod Fish (RM38). The dish that i like the most is the Garlic Chicken wing, it reallly taste very delicious! My dad like the Steam Cod Fish but i dun really like cause i dun like to eat cod fish. The fried asparagus was nice too..like the XO paste gravy. The soup was normal, nothing special.
Total bill came at RM 82.30 (including white rice and beverage, no service charge!) . Overall, i think the food here quite nice, and think will come back and try other dish

My colleagues loves the meehoon kuai , she said is the best meehoon kuai that she ever tried. I like the meesua a lot!!! the soup for the meesua was very delicious! and the price was quite cheap too..RM 3.5 for Small bowl size and RM 5 for Big bowl size and RM 8 for Extra Big bowl size. If u are meehoon kuai lovers and around this area, can give this a try :)

Wa Zen Japanese Restaurant
Came to this restaurant for late dinner yesterday. Quite surprise to see the restaurant was still quite crowded at that time.
We ordered Sanma Bento Set (RM 13.90), Fillet katsu Set (13.90), Tori Teriyaki Set (RM 13.90), California Maki (RM 15), Chawan Mushi (RM 4), Ebikko Sushi (RM 4). All the bento set is RM13.90 which i feel is quite reasonable as the set comes with one cawanmushi, watermelon, miso soup, salad and rice. I like my colleagues's tori teriyaki, it was very nice!. I dun like my Fillet Katsu as i feel the meat was very tough and hard and a bit tasteless. The cawanmushi 's taste was average and think they forget to reheat mine one...first time eat not hot cawanmushi. My consultant loves her California Maki but she dun like the soya sauce as she said it tasted weird when she mixed wasabi with the salty soya sauce.
Total bill came @ RM 83.30 (Including 10% service charge & beverages). Think i wont come back to this restaurant unless i really crave for japanese food as there is limited japanese restaurant around this area. If anyone knows any good jap restaurant around malaka raya, please update me :)

Tok Su Gung Korean Restaurant
Came here for dinner last week. Dun think i will notice this place without my colleague's recommendation as never expect that area will have shop open at nite.
When we reached there, the restaurant was three quater full and a few tables were taken by Korean..The restaurant owner is a korean lady. She was really friendly and helpful. After she recommended us a few fish, We decided to order 1 seafood steamboat (RM 65) and 1 BBQ pork belly (RM 28) .
The Steamboat was really nice!!! i like the soup..the steamboat come with noodles inside. just too bad that cannot ask for refill the soup :P. The pork belly was quite nice too..but my fren said the pork was smelly.but i feel is quite ok. They also served us some side dishes like kimchi etc..not bad..especially the ikan bilis..and best is they never charge for the side dishes and is refillable!!
Overall bill came at RM124.30 (10% service charge) which i feel is quite resonable as the food was really delicious (except for the white rice, RM5 per bowl). Think i will come back again to try the ginseng chicken very soon :)
