Came across this place after reading it from a few blogs. This restaurant is hidden on the 6th floor of Tiong Bahru Plaza, which is accessible only from the lifts. Even when we walk out of the lift, it is still not visible until one walk out and look to the left.
The restaurant decoration though is simple, it gives you a feeling you come to the right place if you looking for some nice tasty food.
We ordered a prawn paste chicken, marmite pork ribs and assorted eggs with vegetables. Each dish is $10 which is pretty reasonable.
Food wise, I found every dish was pretty good. I personally quite enjoy the assort egg with vegetables, which is actually a vegetable dish and soup as well. The marmite pork ribs was pretty good, and is a chef recommended dish. As for the prawn paste chicken, though my friend find it average, I quite enjoy it, partially cos is not too salty. I treat it more like a nicer version of fried chicken. The difference is most places uses chicken wing for their prawn paste chicken, this place actually uses mainly breast meat.
Service wise, mainly the place is not crowded, the waitress were all very attentive, constantly offer to help us pour the soup, and fill up our tea without asking.
Service charge is only 5% at this place, and total bill for our dinner came up to $39.95.
Overall, I think this is quite a nice cosy place for a fuss free dinner which is pretty good value for money.

The food is quite good and reasonable. The prawn paste chicken was supposed to have originated here. Their other signature dishes is some type of steamed fishhead, I think.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
