Leong Kee (Klang) Bak Kut Teh 梁记(巴生) 肉骨茶 @ Geylang
had bak kut teh today for lunch with 3 other friends at geylang today. ordered 2 claypots of bak kut teh, a claypot of pig trotters and the usual side dishes.
this being my first taste of claypot bkt in singapore, i was curious if it would taste like my fav bak kut teh in jb. the soup tasted of herbs, not too strong but still not bad, would be better if it is hotter (after all it is claypot, supposed to be hot hot hot!). the meat is not hard either, which suit me as i do not like the hard meat served at some bak kut teh places in singapore. the pig trotters was pretty good too. the soup refill seems kind of stingy though, uncle only refill with one small bowl of soup :P
overall i will say the bkt is ok and worth trying, especially if you do not like those peppery soup kind of bak kut teh...

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

No, but will try it out soon. However i went to the Tiong Bahru Bak Kut Teh, their trotter every nice, soup is not overly pepperly, but slightly expensive. $13+ For trotter, soup, tao kee , you tiao and nasi.

Ok... after tasting both Leong Kee at this place today and the one at Sultan Gate few weeks back, I think both are definitely pretty good compare to rest of the bkt in Singapore standard. Without comparing the bak kut teh in Malaysia, I would give this a 4 star :)
As for which stall is better, I think the soup was actually slightly thicker at the Sultan Gate one, probably could be due to I was there at a later time at Sultan Gate compare to Geylang.
So for those who have not try both, check both out and let me know which u prefer :)

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
