Kim Gary Restaurant @ Sungai Wang Plaza

Posted by CyberTron on Aug 02, 2009 4:19PM
Came here for dinner on Tuesday night when we get back from Penang. My friend was tired, so we decided to settle for something near the hotel instead.

My frriend ordered her favourite pork chop burger (RM6.50), and ordered a roasted honey spare ribs with rice (RM9.90). For drinks, we had honey pamelo tea (RM3.90) and fresh lemon honey green tea (RM3.70). Total bill including service charge and tax came up to RM27.85.

Tried a little of my friend's pork chop burger, which was pretty good. I like the butter they put on the bun, which makes it taste pretty good. However, I was told the burger is not very consistently done, as sometimes they are very good, sometimes not so, and that day was not the best my friend has tasted.

For my pork rib rice, find it decent, but not very special though.

Overall, given my not that great experience with Kim Gary in Singapore, the dinner there turns out pretty good actually and price is reasonable I feel.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi! The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you. For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
