Authentic Korean BBQ
The restaurant..
Greeted by a pretty and enthusiastic Korean lady was a good start. Suspiciously looking like a no frills restaurant at the front, the restaurant actually looks bigger than it is. Encompassing plenty tables and tatami-mat korean style table seatings, each with 1 grilling plate in the middle.
The staff are all extremely efficient, getting you swiftly seated, and before you know it, the menu is staring wide open at you in your hands. After deciding on the main staples of beef and pork for the night, the staff brings on the side korean condiments of tofu, yummy kimchi, seaweed soup, fried meat balls. delicious fried sweet potato and the list goes on and on of korean specialities! Veggies galore! Not forgetting as well is the longest plate of letture I've ever seen to go with the bbq, served fresh to your table. All these array of colors on the food really makes you hungry..
As we tucked in, the beef short ribs was served, and the waitress starts cutting the whole piece out of the piece of attached rib. Nicely marinated with locality sauce and spring onion and honey I presume, the waitress grilled the meat in front of us. Quite proficient actually, as she cuts up the sizzling meat into bite size pieces and leaving us to attack wads on the grill.
Pick up a piece of meat and place it on the lettuce. Add garlic (only for the brave hearted) and a little bean paste, and there you have it.authentic korean bbq meat wrap as seen on korean dramas..A bite of the tender meat + fresh lettuce made me feel like I've died and gone to BBQ beef heaven...well back to reality, the seasoning was good enough to make us scrape the chared grill plates craving for more..
warning- as the small unseeming garlic piece can numb your whole palate for 60 secs (while drowning down ice water). The meats are highly recommended here. A pity not much seafood or mixed platter is on the menu except for grilled prawns. Plus point of course, is the amount of veggies you down with the main that makes it healthy?!
It is really nice that they serve ice water and cold chinese tea right up. Being familly oriented, they also have a decent kids playground to leave you time for your food. To mention, is also a novelty, which are the capsule tissues which requires you to pour water on it, to turn into normal wet paper towels..
A nice touch at the end is the heart shaped watermelons which are sweet sweet sweet. Plus they serve cold ice cinnamon tea to end off the meal! (Very strong cinnamon taste, so dunk it if you hate cinnamon)
Everything seems great here, and surprisingly the service as well, for a sub-urban place like this..Word of caution here though, the side condiments are enough to kill you so don't think 1 serving of meat is not enough

Standard meat cuts is at $22-$25 per set. The beef ribs we ordered was $45+ per set.. total damage was $100+ for 2 for this meat!
