Decided to pop by Chinatown for dinner today and ended up at this place which is near the escalator.
We ordered a vege, steam fish head ($13) and prawn paste chicken. Total bill came up to $27.50.
I actually quite like the vege and the prawn paste chicken. The fish head was already, though my friend preferred the one at Le Chasseur 乐食轩.
Overall, quite a decent meal at very reasonable price. The amount of food we ordered is probably enough for 3 adults or even a family of 4.
I've not check other other similar stalls there yet, so can't really compare if this is the best there, but if I'm lazy to try something new, I might go back there just for a nice simple zi char meal there.

hi phyllis,
I've tried the prawn noodle at lavender food centre before... I think it taste similar to this. Yet to try out the wanton mee there though I know it is pretty famous. :)

Finally pop by here again to try the pork chop. At $6, you get 2 slabs of pork chop, one rather large, the other around half the size. You also get quite generous serving of fries, beans and a bun.
Wow! The pork chop here is really nice! There's a thick layer of fat at the edge of the pork chop. The pork chop is grilled such that the fatty portion is crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. When you bite the fatty portion in your mouth, can feel all the oil squirting inside ya mouth. hahahaah.... really yummy :) The meat itself is also very tender as well.
Really good pork chop!

this place has their speciality sambal beacan. should hv tried their mee goreng mamak style & nasi goreng with sambal belacan. they also add sambal belacan to their fried kuey teow.
the rest of the dishes i believe you have tried & yes...the fruit plate @ d end of the meal is pretty standard. been going to this place on a monthly basis for the last few years.

Came here for dinner yesterday. As my preferred Whitley Road prawn noodle was not opened, decided to eat at this stall. Realised they have introduced a clam + prawn noodle, which is something new. Decided to ordered one ($5) and try.
Basically, instead of your usual pork ribs + prawn, they just replaced the pork ribs with clams. I find the clams a bit tough or rubbery though, but nevertheless, the overall is still tasty.
