Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice 瑞丰海南起骨鸡饭

Posted by CyberTron on Oct 22, 2008 12:04AM
Was decided what to eat for dinner at People's Park food centre, came across this chicken rice stall that is facing OG at the front row, which seems to have got media awards. Ordered chicken for two person and 1 rice, total bill came up to just $7.50.

The amount of chicken was actually quite generous, and the auntie was very friendly too. Overall, I find the chicken is quite tender, and the soup was actually not bad, not the usual plain msg soup one usually get with their chicken rice. The rice was quite fragrant too, and not too oily and the chilli was quite nice.

Overall, think this chicken rice, though looks simple, is probably worth a 3.5 star for both the food and value for money.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out! Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers. Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
