Foo Kee Famous Deep Fried 福记炸豆腐

Posted by CyberTron on Sep 16, 2008 2:13AM
After I bought my char kway teow, my friend was commenting that a lot of people are buy from this stall. So decided go there to check it out. This stall sells deep fried stuff, sort of like ngoh hiang, but with just like 6 - 8 items to choose from. I ordered a pc of tou fu with fish paste ($1.20), tau pok with fish paste(1.20) and toufu with cheese (2 for $1.20).

The tou fu with fish paste is pretty good, while the tau pok with fish paste is actually quite unique, as it has bean sprout inside which makes it crunchy when ya eat it. However, I did not quite like the cheese one though. Find it a bit hard too my likely, and not much taste or than the slight cheese taste. Price wise, some might probably find a piece of toufu at $1.20 a bit pricey though. If you looking for something to fill your stomach, for $3.60, maybe one might be better off with a plate of char kway teow or something?

PS. After I came home and google about this, seems this stall was previously from Chomp Chomp.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi! The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you. For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
