After I posted my review on Big D's Grill, my friend message me that e.Black Board has actually moved from their original Bedok South location, and not closed down. In fact, they have opened another new branch in Clementi.
My friend lives in the west, and we are always quite hard pressed for good places to eat in the west, decided to drop by to the Clementi branch for our dinner today. When we were there around 7+, the place was pretty quiet.
My friend ordered the grilled chicken ($6.50) while I went for the mix grill ($15). It did not take long before the food was served. However, the waitress mixed up my friend's order with a fish and chip. She apologised immediately and change the correct order for us. My mix grill came with a potato salad and boiled broccoli, while my friend's girlled chicken came with coleslaw and fries.
So how does this compare to Big D's Grill? Well, the mix grill was good, but not as good as Big D's, but it makes up with the price and quantity. I came with a piece of chicken, pork and steak. If compare to the mix grill at $12 at Tiong Bahru market, I think I've no problem paying the extra $3 (actually lesser). My friend commented her grilled chicken is actually better than the one at Botak Jones.
To sweeten the deal even more, there's currently at 10% discount, which makes our whole meal at $19.35, which makes the grilled chicken at just $5.85. I think this place deserves a 3.5 star for value for money, though food wise, I'll put that somewhere between at 3 and 3.5 star.
Overall, I think if you consider the cheaper items like fish and chips and grilled chicken at $6.50, this is definitely closer to HDB pricing and pretty decent western food, and even the steaks are around $14 - 15 if not wrong. Nothing too fancy, but still affordable to many who might want to splurge once in awhile on pay day. :)
PS. hmm... though the service was pretty good, I thought the waitress should have asked how i wanted my steak on my mix grill done though.

The original bedok brand supposedly move to Blk 25 New Upper Changi Rd (Bedok South) @ New 25 Coffee Shop . I've not been there though, so you might want to check it out if you have a chane and post a review :)

Went and tried after reading your review.. my friend had the grilled chicken which she commented that it's very juicy on the inside and the taste was good, something different from the usual grilled chicken chop you get somewhere else.. I had the grilled white fish and though the portion wasn't big but the fish fillet were very fresh and juicy as well, consider quite good as grilled fish usually turns out dried.. Will definitely go back and eat again.

I've never been to Chinatown food centre or Albert Street Temporary food centre so can't compare. Yup, it's "song fish head" steam with tau see style, and I love the pork lard on it, very crispy. ^o^

How is the fish steam head compared to the ones at Chinatown food centre or there's another stall in Albert Street Temporary food centre? The steam fish head is "song fish head" steam with tau see style?

I went to the tony roma's in singapore suntec city, the ribs is very nice & tender and the chocolate dessert is sinful! Dun like the corn soup though.

Overall plus the cendol. I like the sauce but the crushed peanuts spoiled it and the fried stuffs too plain.
