This stall I believe is the branch of the stall with the same name at Old Airport Road food center. I've seen long queue at the Old Airport Road stall before. I wasn't planning to try this when I saw they have deep fried durian there :)
When I was there, the deep friend durian was sold out, and I was told to come back in 10min. The deep fried durian cost $1.60 a piece, which my friend commented it looks like goreng pisang, the only difference is that this is rectangular shape instead of oval. :)
The filling taste like durian kaya or sort. I would prefer the filling a bit like the four seasons durian pancake. As it was just fried when I bought it, it was still crispy and taste pretty good.
Overall, pretty decent deep fried durian, but I feel the filling could still be improved.

Four Season Durian Pancake
After dinner, at the ground floor there was some little mooncake fair going on there, and saw this Four Season Durian has a stall there selling durian pancake. Heard one of my friends said it was pretty good, so decided to give it a try.
At $1.50 a piece, it might be a little pricey for some. However, the taste of the pancakes probably make up for it. The pancake itself I felt was a little too sweet, but the durian filling was really good and pretty generous too. The filling is sSimilar to the filling u get in those Goodwood Park durian puffs.
Overall, if you are craving for some durian desserts, you might want to check this out. Looking at the websites, they have other outlets in Takashimaya and Ang Mo Kio hub as well.
BTW, thanks to my friend who treat me the durian pancake :)

Since tomorrow not working, decided to go eat some durian last minute :) Manage to jio 2 of my friends for some durian at probably very well known now Four Seasons Durian Cafe near by house.
Since there were only 3 of us, we decided just 1 durian would be enough for us. We just selected a "normal" one, which was $12/kg, and paid $24 for the 2kg durian.
Well, $24 for a durian, my friend commented she could buy similar ones at NTUC at $6 a pack...hahahaa... well, the durian was sweet and dry, but is pretty normal with big seed kind, so is not those very very thick flesh with small seed.
Coconut was $3, same as the Ah Hung D24 Sultan Durian at geylang we went on wednesday.
Overall, I would find the durian as just so so given the price.
PS. While we were eating nearly the end, the garbage truck came to collect garbage, and yes, it stinks and that's just like 1+am only. So if you still planning to go there, guess dun go at that hour to make your nose suffer.

Ah Hung D24 Sultan Durian @ Geylang
tonight, a total of 9 of us headed down to geylang for dinner...durian!!! a friend recommended that the hulu durian at Ah Hung is pretty good (third durian stall counting from the start of the road of shops) so we went there to check it out...
upon reaching there, we discovered that the shelf containing the hulu durians was empty! however, uncle assured us that the fresh ones would be coming soon, lorry was on its way from genting(phew)...uncle was pretty friendly, did not do a speedy opening of durians which would force us to buy...he recommended us the mao shan wang which has many seeds, thus more for our large group to share. so, we started the first round of durians with 2 mao shan wang (1 sweet and 1 bitter), and XO D24 which is well-known for its bitter meat (my favourite!)...
i started with the XO first, which is not bad...but to me it is not bitter enough...the one i bought from my favourite jb durian stall seems more bitter and tastier...as for the mao shan wang, friends commented that the XO was better than the mao shan wang...when we were done with the durians and digging coconut fleshes, finally the legendary hulu arrived! wonder how it gets it name though, since it doesn't look like a hulu...liked the bitter taste and the meat is not too soft like the XO's...we did not manage to finish it, so uncle helped us put it in styrofoam box...keke, so friend's car now is filled with durian air refreshener...
thanks to the friend who recommended us hulu..and of cos to uncle cybertron for treating us! woohoo! a good ending to the durian season (i hope...too heaty!!)

Liew Lian *The End*
That's it. Do or die. Since this is the last review on durians, might as well give it all. what do you do with 50kg of fresh durian, dropped in the morning and transported from Malaysia behind a car boot? You Eat like Mad and hope you don't get diabetes. And yes All are organic XO or Mao SHan Wang. I Have yet to finish all as you can see, I took some time to open one and this is the first durian that has the Strongest alcohol taste that it kinda numbs your tongue. Anyway, just to share, Malaysia's durians are the best, no water vapor in the flesh since its fresh and Mao Shan Wang is Bitter as hell and the seeds are relatively Small.
Flesh wise, i can sink my teeth and cannot find a seed except a chunk of creamy flesh in my mouth. 3 of it and i had enough for the day.
I have about 15 more to go. Congrats. Enjoy and i will continue to post if i am still alive.
And nothing beats eating at home.
Free btw. overflowing in some plantations. :D

Liew lian *durian* sequel
Call me a durian addict, i don't really care because the durian withdrawal symptoms are back! Sometimes you just crave for that piece of silky yet rich and smooth flesh in your mouth, that semi bitter sweet feeling that gives you a tingling sensation in your tongue. That's durian.
This time i was craving for any durian, ANY Kinds of durian. D24,D14,Red prawn whatever it is. so i happen to come across this humble fruit store that sells selected and limited number of durians, the D13 and D14.
there's make shift tables beside a bus stop as well.(free advertising) and a pail of water to wash you hands. Many foreign workers DA PAO away though.
Durian was more on the bitter side and if you feel like gorging with a lot of durians or you intend to keep in the fridge and slowly enjoy it the next day, this is the place. a huge packet for just $2, and the highest at $5 which i would say, quantity matters. D13/14 was good though.Price wise i would say its reasonable, the uncle opened another one when my dad complained it wasn't good.(See, its the bias thing again)
so, i have managed to conquer the D13/D14/D24/Red prawn. Now i am left with the MAO SHAN WANG!

Durian! Chong Pang!
Yes Durian again!
This time i went back to Chong Pang *Yishun* to give the uncles another chance!every since they conned me a few years ago, i decided to go back.
But this time round, it didn't disappoint! The uncle let you taste one of the durian that he opened before letting you decide! so yes, no disappointment. and he claims you can bring back and exchange if its bad. but o well
i tried D24 at 5 for one. it was yes sweet. Mao shan was $18/kg although the board wrote $22/kg.
there's also a huge group of uncle + aunties sniffing at the 6 for $10 bucks durians. Hobby i guess.
Ok anyway ambiance wise, i used to eat at the coffeshop beside the durian shop (its allowed if you order drinks)
but this time round they set up makeshift tables with TISSUE boxes! hah 1 up.
So yes hurry hurry the durian season ends at end of AugusT!

Fried Durian Solo!
On our way back from dinner, pass by Bugis Junction, and there seems to be some food fair there. Came across this durian solo (fried durian) at one of the booth so decided to give this a try. Each piece was going at $2, so we just bought one to try. As it was fried on the spot, the fried durian was hot and crispy on the outside. Inside is sort of like durian cream or "kaya". It is pretty good, though I was expecting the filling to have more texture like those in goodwood park durian puffs. Anyway, overall, is pretty tasty, though I find it a bit pricey at $2 a piece. So all durian lovers, you might want to check this out!

Out of fun, I decided to check out another area I read on internet that still have durian trees. This place seems to have quite a lot of durian trees, so far, the most that I've seen. Compared to khatib, this seems a much better place, as you dun have very territorial uncles there "guarding" the durian trees. Anyway, also met a couple of parents who brought their kids there for some rural outing, which is pretty lacking in our urban landscape. Anyway, the thrill for me is similar to fishing. Is not the number of durians that you picked, neither is it the quality of the durians you can find there. If ya want good durians, you are probably easy off just going outside to buy at ya regular durian stalls. To me is the rural experience and the thrill when ya hear the durian lands on the grow, and u eagerly go find ya "prized" durian. hahaah... anyway.... uploaded the photos for everyone to enjoy!

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
