I've never been to this chain, but been reading about the duck here, which is supposed to be good. My friend warn me this place can be a bit pricey though, so when we were there, we decided to just got for a set menu for 2. We went for the value set ($39 for2pax). Interesting on the menu, the first item listed on the set is not their duck but white rice. The set also came with their famous duck, soup of the day, a plate of vege and pork ribs.

For a start, didn't find the rice was any that special. The duck was pretty nice, and portion was for duck was quite big too. Even my friend who does not eat duck also enjoyed the gravy from the duck. I'm not sure exactly what was the soup of the day, but it definitely taste pretty good. The vege and pork ribs are normal, nothing special that worth mentioning.

Overall, the food here is pretty decent. Probably can rate it between 3 and 3.5 star actually. If you sit by the side, you might also get a good view outside as well.

PS. There 15% for citibank visa as well, which makes the meal a bit cheaper :)

One of our favourite chinese eatery, but the standard of different outlets varies depending on the chefs on duty. Normally we'll order a la carte instead of the set. We love the shi quan duck, dong bo meat, mongolian pork ribs and spinach with salted egg there.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out! Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers. Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
