Curry Favor @ Novena Square
When I first ate at Curry Favor, it was years ago at its first restaurant at Stamford Road, near City Hall. I was fascinated by the interior design of the restaurant then, mainly the wall and the floor...a unique taste that I do not see elsewhere. The one at Novena is also done with a similar touch, but my preference goes to the former...perhaps because it was smaller and cosier...
As for the food, I have always liked their stewed curry, never failed to order the pork stewed curry (pork belly). Had our dinner here tonight, and since today was Monday which is their Curry Favor Day, we would get to enjoy 50% off the 2nd curry main course. I ordered my usual ($13.90) while bf ordered the katsu potato dish ($12.90... forgot the actual name of the dish)...
in the past, i could never finish the pork belly, not to mention the rice...but today, the portion seemed to have strunk. we were wondering if it was due to lowering in price thus resulting in a smaller portion (we could not remember if it costed more previously), or because it is monday and curry dishes come in smaller portion :P.... or is just a fact that the portion has strunk (guess so much for what?)...
the curry has the non-spicy and spicy version, not too sure if they have super spicy. The spicy version was pretty good and has this slight hint of hotness, even suitable for pple who can't take hot stuff. it tastes as good as ever, and the pork belly soft and tender... the katsu potatoes were nice too. the combination of pork belly and potatoes....best!

I used to like the one at Stamford House and always feel that they have served the best stew beef. The beef is so tender and juicy especially with the fried slice garlic that spruce up the flavour. Lately the taste changed and they no longer serve the fried garlic... A bit of a disappointment...

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
