This place is actually quite well known for their steam chicken. There are actually a few branches all over Singapore. Overall, the food is not bad, but price wise, is more than your average chicken rice stall. We order a portion of chicken for 2, a dish of vegetable with century eggs and salted egg and a jug of water chestnut drink, 2 bowls of rice, and the bill came up to $30.50. But at 2am at night, I guess this is probably one of the best chicken rice stall that is still open.

Where's a good place for good chicken rice? I prefer the tender kind (think is more cantonese style). Been reading about the Margaret Drive FC's Sin Kee, but have not got the change to go down to try it yet. Any suggestions?

I remember i last time always eat at boon tong kee...
love their rice, and i personally, i think their signature should be their 'mei cai kou rou'.This dish never fails to disappoint. Their chicken is always soft and tender. and i agree, their price is little on the high side but not high enough to deter u from even trying. Just that you can go eat every other day. lol!

Had late dinner at River Valley branch, the waiter recommend us their signature dish - Song Jian Pork Ribs ($13).
As a pork fanatic, i have two words to describe it...VERY SHIOK.
The ribs is tender and soft enough to melt in your mouth, the only setback was it is overly sweet.
We order chicken for 2, pork ribs and a jug of lime juice, the bill came up to $30 over... price is reasonable. Btw the pork ribs come with man tou

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out!
Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers.
Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
