Azabu Sabo @ The Central, Clarke Quay
so after we had our dinner at ma maison, went downstairs to Azabu Sabo for desserts. looked at the menu and was delighted to see that the desserts are pretty interesting!
i ordered the ice cream with hotball and sweet potato..liked the hot ball, which i think is just flour? it is kind of fried on the outside and soft on the inside. friend ordered and highly recommended the sweet potato with ice cream and caramel sauce...i tried and geez..it is pretty good, although some pple might find the caramel a bit too sweet....
overall, the ice cream here suits me as i love sweet potatos and has never tried sweet potato with ice cream before...so score points there! if you dun mind paying more for an ice cream or other desserts, do check out here...

Came here for dessert after dinner on Tuesday night. Ordered a Hokkaido Hot Ball ($6.80) and a Matcha Warabi Mochi Parfait ($11.80). The hokkaido hot ball is pretty nice. The hot ball i believe it made of sweet potato, texture sort of like a harder version of the donut ball. And eaten with the sweet red bean, it taste pretty good.
As for the other one, I only find the green tea ice cream not too bad. The mochi is so so while the small pieces of japanese rice cake with peanut (i think) was a bit tasteless to me.
Overall, pretty nice place to hang around for some dessert and the variety is quite decent as well.

muahah..change of chefs perhaps....saw those notices at the entrance advertising for cook and cook assistant or something...now that you mentioned it, i realised the difference is more than that! the sweet potato was different too!the first time when i ate it, it was pretty good...the 2nd time round the potato seems harder :S

Came here for dessert after our dinner today. When we arrived, there was a queue outside with 2 - 3 groups in front of us. Took about 15min (i estimate but did not really time) before we got our seat. My friend ordered the caramel coated sweet potato with ice cream, while I ordered this soft cream (sundae) with green tea, red bean and sweet potato ($8.80).
For the caramel coated sweet potato, I dun quite like the caramel sauce when eaten with the fried rice cake (like nian gao) that came with it, though the sweet potato was not bad, only thing is just not used to eating sweet potato skin :P
As for my sundae, the green tea sundae and red bean is normal, while the bottom came with some sweet potato (if not wrong), did not taste that nice initially when eaten on its own, but actually taste very good when eating with the sweet red bean and the ice cream.
Overall, one is so spoilt for choice with the dessert selection here, when everything looks fantastic! :P If only I dun have to watch my BMI, I would have skip dinner and just help myself with just the desserts here :P (did I say I had a sweet tooths? :) )

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
