Actually, we wanted to try out the steamboat buffet supposedly at the Crystal Jade at Holland Village. There's actually 2 Crystal Jade there, and the one with the steamboat buffet is at the La Mian Xiao Long Bao, and not at this. However, when we were there around 8+, was told the place was already full, so we decided to head to this place which is just beside.

There's was a short queue when we were there, but it did not take quite long when we got a table. However, after we got our seat, we have problem getting the waitress attention that we had to self service to get our own menu from the counter instead.

Ordered their crispy chicken (half at $6.80), assorted mushroom with vegetables and gluten ($12.50) and a sichuan hot and sour soup ($7.20). Total bill inclusive of rice and tea came up to $36.60.

Though the service isn't that great here, but the food did not take that long to be served though. The mushroom vege was pretty nice, and portion was decent too. The crispy chicken is abit disappointing. The chicken itself was crispy and hot, however, the crumbs where actually cold and seems to have been fried and left there for a long time. If the crumbs were actually hot and crispy, it would be pretty good. The spicy and sour soup was ok, but portion seems a bit small for $7.20 though. Seems like a portion for just a single person. Compare to half a chicken at only $6.80, the price for the soup seems to be a bit off though.

Overall, the food is average, though the chicken was kind of disappointing, and price is just average. Service here could definitely be improved.	<div>

Lunch for that day was at this seafood market. The restaurant was at the 2nd floor, seem like a common place for tours as we saw rows of long tables with groups of tourists. The first floor sold the local delights, souvenirs, and *drool* fresh seafood!

Our lunch did not include the crab so we went downstairs to choose a crab. Not sure what kind are the crabs actually...alaska crab? Since it is huge and has long legs... nonetheless we started to walk ard the seafood area to check out the crabs.

Finally, we managed to find a small one which cost ard SGD200... we were told then half the legs would be made as sashimi and the remaining parts would be for the steam boat....

So while waiting for the crab to be served, we ate the other dishes which were not bad, mainly fishes... Crab came, and I tried the crab sashimi, but it felt weird...soft and raw...so bf happily ate all the 4 legs since none of us fancied crab sashimi (what a shame :S).... enjoyed the cooked crab more, fresh and tasty... we (4 pax) almost could not finish the crab...

Somehow after this meal, we felt the crab legs we had in later meals did not taste as good as this one...glad we did not give this a miss...	<div>

This stall is one of the popular stalls at East Coast Parkway. We were lucky to get the last bowl of beef kway teow soup that night.

Originally we planned to go to this place yesterday. But when we were there only then we remembered this place is closed on Tuesday.

When we were there today, the inside was full (actually there was 1 table available, but it was reserved). As we did not feel like waiting, we took the seats outside. And not before long, the 3 tables outside were also full.

The waitress showed us to the table and brought us the menu. She then asked if it was our first time here. If we were, she will ask the "chef" to recommend. Well, so when the chef came, it was't really that helpful in the recommendations, other than saying the curry fish head and curry chicken is recommended.

So as ya can see from the photos, we ordered a small curry fish head, a ngoah hiang and a vege. Total bill inclusive of drinks is $36. There's no additional service charge or GST.

Though the place was full house, it did not take too long before our food were served. I personally enjoyed the curry fish head. Loved to eat my rice with the curry. The fish head is only half a side, with lots of lady fingers and egg plant. Overall, I think the curry here is pretty good. Even when we first entered the restaurant, we were immediately invited by the smell of the curry spices! However, the next 2 dishes weren't that great. I find the ngoah hiang a bit too oily, while the vege is a bit soggy, which is not my likely. If not for these 2 disappointing dishes, I would have given the curry fish head probably a 3.5 or even a 4 star alone.

Price wise, this place is not too expensive given the location, and hopefully i will get the chance to go back to try out the curry chicken one of these days :)	<div>

Went to this place for dinner a few days ago. When we reached the place, the coffee shop was very crowded, but luckily we managed to find our seat fast!
We ordered medium fish steamboat ($23) , vege ($8) & beancurd ($18)! For our fish steamboat, we ordered fish slices instead of the fish head as my fren dun like fish head steamboat! The fish steamboat was very nice! The soup was sweet and quite delicous!! The fish slices used in the fish soup were fresh too!!! Same like the Nan Hwa Chong fish steamboat, you can request to refill your soup :)
As for the vege, it was just average! Hmmm..the beancurd was quite nice and my fren commented it tasted like mashed potato..hahaha..However, i feel the price for the beancurd was quite expensive!! ( i just need to additional top up $5 to get another fish steamboat ).	<div>

If you ask me where to eat good satay bee hoon in Singapore, I will strongly recommend this! And that is coming from someone who doesn't like to eat satay bee hoon at all... who always thought that beehoon and satay gravy is a totally wrong combination...

So when we were at East Coast Parkway last friday, and bf was saying this satay bee hoon is a die-die-must-try dish...i decided to give satay bee hoon a 2nd chance... queued for at least 15 min...actually the queue wasn't verrrry long, it was because the 2 uncles took quite some time to pick the ingredients, arrange on the plate, pour the gravy... it was like they were doing it with a lot of concentration...what went through my mind was this better be worth my time and 3 bucks...

And indeed, the wait was worth it....the effort and concentration put in by the uncles to prepare this small plate was worth it... never know that satay gravy and bee hoon can taste so good togethe. the gravy was more wet than thick and you do not get sick of it at all... all thumbs up! Oh, we requested not to have the humps and pig livers...just the cuttlefish etc...

Photo not very clear since it was taken at night using my hp...tsk tsk...	<div>

Was in JB last weekend...instead of our usual bak kut teh, we had claypot rice instead at this kopitiam...

Judging by the crowd at the kopitiam, the claypot rice seemed to be a popular choice...almost every tables had a claypot!

We made our orders and sat to wait. Waited for ard 15 minutes, not very long compared to the one at Toa Payoh Lorong 5... The style was different from Singapore's as well. The black sauce and oil was already stirred into the rice, and the salted fish was served separately in a small plate which we can mix into our rice later on...cooolll... pretty generous serving of salted fish indeed...

Took one mouth and mann..... this is definitely better than Toa Payoh Lorong 5....the chicken was not too dry and tasted good, rice was neither too hard nor too soggy... and the fact that I could have enough salted fish to mix into my rice... nothing can beat that...

As for the xi yang cai soup, was good too... the lettuce was ok....

Bill comes up to RM20, with the clay pot for 2 costing RM12 bucks, the soup at RM3 and lettuce RM5... pretty worth it...

Ended the meal with a small cup of kopi from the drink stall... not bad too... bf commented it tasted similarly to our fav kopi at YY Cafe...	<div>

It was recommended by my brother, but what does he knows that was the first experience of Korean food. Anyway we gave it a shot.

It was not disappointing at all, money well spent I would say. From the past experience, we always ended up too full after each korean meal, so this time we only ordered one dish (marinated bbq beef steamboat-RM42) and nothing else. And man i was so right about the order, when they first serve the cold dishes & kimchi. More than 10 plates nad they only cost RM5!!!! And they are all so delicious, the steamboat with packed with meat, veg, vermicelli and yummy broth.
Then free flow of tea or water, fruits after meal and the funkiest (nice way) taste candies when we pay.

The price on the menu is about average, and they charge for their kimchi (but look at the quanity i dun really mind paying). The only comment would b a bit heavy when it comes to adding MSG to their dishes, good thing they serve water FOC.	<div>

	3rd Hokkaido Review!

We went to Otaru Music Box Museum that day, and while walking to there, we passed by this seafood shop where a lady was bbqing seafood such as scallops and..huge escargots? man..it really smelled good, and we decided to give it a try...ordered one scallop (huge!) and one escargot (huge!huge!)... and we waited at one side... seemed like the shop was having good business, many pple were crowding ard it...

The scallop was pretty good, juicy and all... as for the escargot (assuming it is :P), well i have never been a fan of escargot as it is just weird to be eating snail? but this one, changed my perception totally... it was chewy and tasted heavenly... no unpleasant taste at all. the lady had cut up the flesh into smaller pieces... enough for 4 of us to try it out... at 500 yen(SGD $7.50) for it, i will say it is pretty worth it :) oh..and the scallop is only 100 yen(SGD $1.50)...

Oh, after that we were chewing on steamed corn, bought from the same shop... not bad too...kekke...

For now Im tagging 1 photo, have more photos on this which I will tag on later...

Ding Dong Ding Dong...oishi!!	<div>

This place is very near the Flamingo Hotel in Ampang and is accessible via Ampang elevated Highway (2nd last exit from KL - Ampang)

Apparently is for the Gwailo to eat and super expensive but I find it ok considering the seafood that we had was super fresh from the past few occasions I visited. From MRR2 towards this place you will see other detached houses same as this one being renovated into seafood restaurant.

No problem with car parks

Wide range of live seafood to choose from, even have exotic stuff (very much similar to the Big Crab at Kelana Jaya)

We Had (8 of us)

Crab- Sri Lanka RM 42 /kg (can choose other much more expensive kind, this is the cheapest but huge)

1)Egg Yolk Baked Crabs - RM 63.00 (my favorite)
2) Salt & Pepper Baked Crab - RM 42.00 (different cuz got Char Leung)
3) Steam Crab With Superior Soup- RM 42.00
4) Superior Soup Spinach - RM 20.00
5) Deep Fried Crispy Pork Rib- RM 30.00 (got fermented bean paste..yum) * a bit expensive cuz portion quite small
6)Sizzling Japanese Bean Curb- RM 20.00 (okie, good to go with rice and the salted fish taste is quite strong)
7) Kung Po Chicken- RM25.00 ( too small portion also but spicy)
8) Longan Coconut Dessert -RM30.00 (the kind you have at wedding dinner)- so-so only

Total bill plus 5% service tax is RM 326.35 ( about RM40 per/pax)

Last time I came, tried the Drunken Prawn and it was fantastic, fresh with loads of ginger. Give the Dried Butter Prawn a miss, was not tasty at all.	<div>

Came here for dinner last night. For those who have not visited cineleisure food court for quite a while, the food court there been taken over by Kou Fu and been renovated and area is now more brightly lit. I ordered a Penne Buongustaio ($6.50) which came with chicken and mushroom in creme sauce.

Price wise is quite ok compared to most of the places selling pasta at coffee shops and hawker centre. However, though the plate seems big, the portion is actually not that big. Food wise, I find the sauce a bit too thick, and the penne was not well cocked, as I prefer my pasta to be on the softer side.	<div>

The Millie Crepes looks slimmer and slimmer each times I ate it. Does not seem to have 20 layers of crepes stuffed with apples. Very exp and cost $72 for 1.5 kg(1 size only, unless you buy in slices).
Prices have increased about $5 compared to last year. Durian flavour cost $77 while original or chocolate cost $68. But the best is still the durian one.
Also bought the pumpkin and yam cake. $28 for the whole which is cut into 30 pcs.($15 for 1/2 size) Very nice, alot of fillings for a kueh but exp as it works out to be about $1/pc where usual is about 50cents.

Pass by this place everyday when I go to work, though it has been in operation for quite a while, only went to try a few weeks ago after much reviews from fellow colleagues (both good and not good).

The place is not for dine in, chair and table are of cold aluminum kind. They obviously target the delivery market in the neighborhood because there were no menu to speak of, just the paper flyers which they give out.

Have to Order at the counter which the cashier cum waiter cum kitchen worker will hand you some paper plate, plaster cup and utensil.

We Order two 14" pizza for 5 person sharing

1) Hawaii - RM34.60
2)Roaster Garlic & Shrimp - RM43.90
3) Soft Drink - RM2.00 (each)

At least they serve us at the table, but the pizza is in the delivery box (wonder if they are afraid of washing afterward or they are real believer in re-cycling)

The pizza crust is really yummy, and the seafood was fresh, wonder if you have it delivered, the taste will be that good.

p/s: They play good selection of Jazz music in the shop but a bit too loud.	<div>

An authentic Greek restaurant nestled within the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Truly a family and friendly atmosphere with an enclosed kid's area filled with toys and books. The food is also excellent.	<div>

Went to this restaurant couple of weeks ago..but i was quite bz (not lazy hor..) so only post the review now.
We ordered a Dinner Set menu which includes Fish Maw Soup, Satay pork rib, Stir Fried Fish Slices with Ginger and Spring Onions, Mushrooms with vege, Cereal prawn, Friend emian and dessert!

The Fish Maw Soup & Satay Pork Rib was very toothsome! The Stir Fried Fish Slices with Ginger and Spring Onions, Mushrooms with vege, Cereal prawn were quite decent too! But as for the emian, i think the noodles was quite soggy , so i dun really like the emian. The desert for tat nite was almond beancurd..Dad said it was quite nice but i dun like the almond smell..so i never eat tat :P

The total bill for tat dinner was $138++. Overall, i think the price was quite reasonable..and this restaurant dun charge for service charge!!!!! :D:D only GST..If u happen to be around tat area..can give this a try :)	<div>

Decided to come here for our dinner today. Ordered a crazy chick ($8.90) while my friend ordered the grilled chicken ($7.90). We also ordered a cheesy garlic bread ($5.90) to share. Total bill including 2 can drinks ($2 each) came up to $28.60. There's no service charge, just GST.

Even though there were not that many people when we were there, the food took awhile before they were served, but good thing the food served here was hot. My fried chicken was not too bad, but really nothing exceptional or special. Tried a little of my friend's grilled chicken, taste was also average.

Overall, the food here is decent, and given the location here, the price is not too bad. So unless I'm around the area, I probably won't consider coming all the way here just for this though.	<div>

Read about this place from a few blogs recently, and happen one of our friends suggested checking out this place when we had our dinner at Mellben last week, so decided to pop by today since there seems to be some hype growing at this place.

When we came here at 6+, the place was pretty quiet, with only a few tables occupied. Not sure if it was due to the rain, or we were early, but even when we left, the place wasn't that full as well.

Service seems to be absent from this laid back coffee shop. We've to go to the stall to make our orders (though most zi char will have someone come to ya table to take your orders), and same goes for the drinks. When I was at the drink stall, one of them seems to be even taking a nap there, while another 3 person sitting at a table beside (I believe are helpers) just sit there and give me a blank look.

Ok... doesn't sound like a very good start. Anyway, we ordered some of the recommended dishes like the deep fried pork knuckles, marmite pork ribs, pumpkin butter prawns, their famous toufu and the "four seasons" bean. Total 5 dishes, and 6 plate of rice, total damage was $62, which works out to around $10 per person.

The food here turns out to be pretty good. The dishes are unique compared to the typical zi char places. My personal favourite is the pumpkin butter prawns. I found the pumpkin sauce pretty good! The marmite pork ribs was tender and taste really nice as well, though I'm really hard pressed if there's really any marmite used for the dish, as I dun think I taste any marmite in the pork ribs though. The pork knuckles was good, especially the sauce. However, if the meat would be more juicy instead of dry would be better. It taste like roasted pork actually :). The rest like the toufu and beans were equally good.

Overall, we all found the food here pretty reasonably priced, and food definitely deserves a 3.5 star, though I would prefer the dishes to be piping hot when served though (could be due to the cooler weather due to the rain?). The lacking in service is made by up the pretty decent and reasonably priced food here.

So do check it out soon before too many people get to know about this and make this place really crowded next time :).	<div>

Secluded location, quiet little place just next to one of the busiest street in KL.

Their dessert displayed always looked scrumptious and the waiter's recommendation was carrot cake which i didnt take I ordered Bread and Butter Pudding instead, then wine, pate & fries.

The presentation is simple and nice, taste could do with some improvement. Especially the pudding, too dried and taste more like a bread rather than pudding but custard is good.

Pate was just right when it goes together with the capers, cuts away most of the greasiness.

Fries, nothing surprising, the mayo is only so so.	<div>

Our guide brought us here, saying that it was a bbq restaurant owned by the Sapporo Beer factory. Lunch was to be bbq pork and veges *drool*

Each of us was given a plastic apron, interesting! And while bbqing the slices of pork and veges, the smoke was effectively sucked away even before it could escape, coooolll.....

As for the food, the pork was omg...very fresh. The sauce used to dip the pork made the taste even more yummy... Ate a lot of veges as well including lettuces, potatoes, bean sprouts and onions....

Not sure how much was this course, so I took a pic of the menu...wahha...Ding Dong Ding Dong! Oishi!	<div>

Looking at the name, they should do shanghai dishes. Except the ever or mayb about the only few shanghai dish tat are well known to most-steamed bum (xiao loong bao), I dun really see y tis place should be named shanghai 10. Aunthenticity, out of ten they only get 2.

We ordered a set diner for 8 pax (appertiser, soup, 5 dishes, rice and dessert) cost about 300 plus, not expensive at all when u look at the size of the dish, we cant finish any of the 5 dishes. But when it comes to taste, i can only give them below average. Too much MSG, and the flavor is not even close to shanghainese dish. Well, if u only want big portion dinner this is the place!!

Do remember to bring along jacket, it's COLD there.	<div>

Not very japanese name for a japanese restaurant. But the food served was above average.

Sashimi is fresh and quality cut, the cut is a little thin to my liking but they just melt in the mouth, it's worth every ringgit spent.

dragon roll & soft shell crab sushi, seasoing is just nice, rice is a bit loose and wet but still nice overall.

sukiyaki, average and a bit too sweet. Beef is still pink, nice too look at and juicy to eat.

sizzling seafood, tis came out as a surprise, the seafood is fresh and salmon doesnt taste funny when it's cooked. Yummy	<div>

Had brunch+lunch (ie big lunch) there. Very good dim sums (had Chiu Chow dumplings, prawn chau fan, shiu mai, shanghai sho pau lo), fried noodles, Monday-special sweet & sour fish rice noodles (was very yummy!), and some gai lan. Similar to HK style, but the difference is they had little saucer of sauce for everything, mostly vinegar based. Chiu Chow haa-gow skin seems nicer than HK haa-gow skins? (thicker & stickier - could be just me).

A little more expensive than our usual lunch, but that's because we had heaps of dishes (we were hungry!). If we only had noodles, it'd been	<div>

Had lunch there with some colleagues. I ordered the vicious-licious dog and caramel swirl hot chocolate. My colleagues orderd the beefeater and chicken roast.

This is another "open restuarant". Its just next to Macdonalds and Cold Storage at the basement, so not much privacy when you are eating.

The sandwiches were served with some salad only, while the hotdog had salad and fries. Feedback from my colleague were "normal", one commented that the beef was a bit tough. My vicious-licious hot dog was also ok. The braustwart was thick and oveall nice, but I was expecting something more than just 6" long. The topping was generous but not very flavorful.

The saving grace was the caramel swirl hot chocolate. It came with marshmallows and whip cream topping and was strong with a rich caramel aroma and taste. Mmmm...definitely recommended for chocolate lovers.	<div>
