Aston Sucks!!!!
Had a bad pre Father's Day dinner with my folks & wife at Aston Spec @ East Coast Rd last nite.
The restaurant manager Ken was sulky, rude & ungracious when we requested for table change since my mum find it too cold. Don't even bother to response when I thank him (We owe him a living?)
The part time waiter just threw the sachets of sugar on the table when he serves my mum hot tea (We owe the whole joint a living?)
The only saving grace is this guy Kenny apologise to us on his behalf that makes me sit down and not to create a scene.
We spend about $80 (Tenderloin, Ribs, Lamb Loin, Fish) for table of 4 so we should have spitted out this chain, went to Botak Jones instead.
Not coming back anymore, it suck!!!

I've no idea if they are under franchise or same management though.
Given how aggressive they have been expanding, not surprise maintain consistency not only btw outlets, but within each outlet itself is probably a major problem they will face.
I've only been to the Astons Specialties at East Coast Road before. Found the steak pretty good except I think portion a little small. If I feel rich one of these days, maybe I'll check out their Astons Prime. :)

Are they franchise or under the same boss? Cos I've tried Aston Express at Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon garden outlets, still prefer the one at Serangoon garden cos they charcoal grilled the chicken better and every fri and sat they sell their burgandy roast at a special rate of $20+ but the one at AMK dun have the same promo.

Aston Express is under the same chain as Aston Specialties, but different range. I believe it goes from Aston Prime, Aston Specialties and Aston Express (highest end to lowest).

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
