Allauddin's Briyani

Posted by CyberTron on Sep 12, 2008 3:28PM
This briyani is supposedly very well known at Tekka market. Pop by here for lunch and ordered the mutton briyani ($4). Though there's no long queues when I was there, once awhile, you might see 2 - 4 people waiting for their briyani there. This stall is definitely more popular than rest of the stalls there.

The rice for the briyani here is very soft, and it has less spices on the rice itself compared to Hanifa's. The mutton is cooked till it is very tender that the meat can be easily removed from the bone. The mutton basically melts in your mouth. Portion wise, this stall gives more mutton as well, and is curry gravy that comes with it is pretty good too.

Overall, is a very good briyani.

My last 2 trips there this year was kinda disappointing as well. First time, somewhere near CNY, a lot of seafood was sold out, even the beer! Thought cos we were there late, so the next time we decided to get there earlier, and this time, the crab where sold out! Service was also very slow and not enuff people to serve the customers. Food wise, I think price is still ok, but I think the food is not longer as good as when it was less well known.... planning to try senibong next round...

Have not been to Jogoya before, but I've been to the Gonbei opposite. Priced similarly to Jogoya if not wrong, and I thought the service and food was pretty good.

I went with 7 adults and 1 kid, we spent less than $120. I would safely hazard a guess of $18 - $25 per person, depending on how hungry you get. Real value for money for quality food.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.
