This prawn noodle is located at the same row, just few stalls away from Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle at the Old Airport Road Food Centre. I've actually tried this a couple of times, though I personally prefer the Whitley Road just a little more. The stall is supposedly opened since 1963, though the one cooking the prawn noodle is actually a young chap :) . So guess this is probably the 2nd or 3rd generation or the business is sold to someone maybe?
Anyway, there a choice of $5, $8 and $10 for the big prawn noodle, and I went for the $8. For $8, the prawn comes in a separate bowl, instead of together with the bee hoon or noodle (depends what you ordered). I prefer this as I find the soup is slightly better for the one with the prawn than with the noodle.
Compare to the Whitley Road one, couple of differences. Whitley Road uses the normal thin bee hoon, while this stall uses the thicker one. The soup for the Whitley Road has a stronger prawn taste, while this one have a sweet taste (not sweetness of prawn though), which I'm not sure what it is...could be garlic? Portion wise, for $8, both are pretty similar, and the size of prawns given are pretty the same too. Overall, the prawn mee here is still good, and both stalls have their own group of followers, as can see from the people eating there.
For me, both are good, though I have a slight preference for the Whitley Road. Anyway, I prefer these 2 over the crowded Beach Road Prawn Noodle at East Coast Road anytime, especially now the price there seems to have increase, and finding car park is always a problem.
So let's share which is your favourite prawn noodle :)
PS. I always end my prawn noodle with a SOP soursop or sugar cane drink :)

Came here for dinner yesterday. As my preferred Whitley Road prawn noodle was not opened, decided to eat at this stall. Realised they have introduced a clam + prawn noodle, which is something new. Decided to ordered one ($5) and try.
Basically, instead of your usual pork ribs + prawn, they just replaced the pork ribs with clams. I find the clams a bit tough or rubbery though, but nevertheless, the overall is still tasty.

Just checked out Lavender Food Square today, there's actually another outlet of this stall over there. Did not try it today as I just had it over the weekend. Will try it out again another time.

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.
