Someone posted a comment anonymously on one of my reviews recently telling about the wonderful authentic penang prawn mee at this place, decided to go check it out. Actually, there first time I went there was last Monday and Tuesday evening. Both days making around 30-40min bus trip from bugis, the place as closed. I guess they aren't open for business for dinner. Anyway, Sunday morning, saw my friend online who happen to stay around the area, decided to ask her to go check it out if it was opened first. So luck was with me this time, my friend sms me the place was opened, decided to head down to check it out for my sunday breakfast.
I was there around 10+, the place was pretty empty. At the coffee shop, there's just 2 stalls (excluding the one selling drinks). The other stalls sells roasted meat mainly. From the stall, they sell both Penang prawn mee and lor mee. The prawn mee comes in $3 and $4. Decided to order the $4 portion. As the were no crowd, my bowl of noodle came pretty quickly. For a start, this is more like your traditional style prawn mee, not those big prawn mee style. You get slices of pork, prawns and kang kong. You also get a few small pieces of lard as well. For a start, you get chilli flakes instead of powder. The noodle I find it wasn't that great. The texture of the noodle seems a little under cook or something, and you still get the alkaline after taste in the noodle. The soup was quite sweet, which was not too bad.
Overall, I've not tasted an authentic penang prawn mee in Penang though, so if compared to the tradtional style of prawn mee we get, this is not too bad, but not exceptional though. So I do not see myself go there anytime soon though. For those who want to give it a try, it located beside the condo "The Linear".
PS : My friend who went earlier who was from Penang commented it wasn't good and worth only 1 star though. She claimed her mum cooks better prawn mee than that...hahhaa...

Is diagonally opposite Jogoya. Supposedly the quality is better than Jogoya. Price wise, if we convert currency, then Malaysia is cheaper. If we do not convert currency, then Singapore is cheaper. Generally, a japanese buffet in Siingapore is around SGD30+ range.

I'm not sure exactly where the original Leong Kee moved to, but I believe the one at Sultan Gate is still there. I also saw one at junction of Jln Besar and Hindoo road. Just at the junction before beancurd city

hi!
The bak kut teh at this place is Klang style. If you refering to the peppery style Bak Kut Teh you typically find in Singapore, then this is not the place for you.
For the peppery style one, the famous ones are probably ones are Balestier Road or the one at Tanjong Pagar complex. For me, I usually just go to Song Fa at Rochor which is decent for me, and more convenient as well.

I don't remember if i'd ever come across cheap and nice seafood in KL...I suggest you to plan a trip to Sabah, that's really what I call heaven for seafood lovers. ;-)
