One of the famous wanton mee stall at Old Airport Road located at the front row. In fact, saw on the stall front got a newspaper cutting that featured it as one of the most high tech stall during that time, as it has a queue number system where one does not have to queue.
Anyway, frankly, I hardly eat wanton mee whenever I'm at Old Airport Road. However, as I was a bit hungry after my gym that night, decided to have something light and decided to have the wanton mee here since its a long while since I've eaten this.
For a start, I find the char siew is a bit disappointing. Is quite dry and tasteless I feel. However, the sauce taste different compared to the usual wanton mee, but I can't say I really like this version though. The noodle was average as well.
Overall, I find I prefer the wanton mee 1 - 2 stalls beside this instead.

Friend recommended this place for dinner last night. Tuck in a secluded corner of eastern part of Singapore where the Changi prison is, this restaurant seems like a hidden gem.
As my friend works nearby last time, so she knows what's good there and I left the orders to her. We ordered a 6pc chicken wings ($10.90), beef stew ($14.90), duck pizza ($15.90) and escargot ($8). We also ordered the red plum soda too ($4). Total bill came up to $66.66 (nice number).
For a start, the chicken wings are the bomb there! I see nearly every table order 1 big plate of chicken wings. The chicken wings are served piping hot, with the skin really crispy while the meat is juicy inside, the kind of fried chicken wings I love! The next favourite dish there is the escargot. The escargot here do not come with shells, and instead of the usual herbs, the ones here are baked with cheese, which is really yummy when eaten with the bread. For the pizza, you get a big juicy slice of duck on each slice of pizza. The duck is nice, not tough, but the pizza crust is normal though. Finally, the beef stew i find was just average. Find the beef is slightly dry and tough. In fact given the price, I probably would go for another round of chicken wings instead and still have some spare change. :) And yes, the chicken wings is that good!
Ambience wise, this restaurant is very cosy. No aircon though, but the place is quite cooling and a great place to for drinking or catching up with friends or going there when I crave for their chicken wings. :) When we were there around 6+ yesterday, the place was still quite empty. By the time we left, the place was full on one wing where the pool table is while the other wing is also close to being full as well.
Overall, this place is quite a nice chill out place and with pretty decent food to go along with and price wise, is pretty reasonable as well. So if you have not tried this place, you might want to check it out.

Someone posted a comment anonymously on one of my reviews recently telling about the wonderful authentic penang prawn mee at this place, decided to go check it out. Actually, there first time I went there was last Monday and Tuesday evening. Both days making around 30-40min bus trip from bugis, the place as closed. I guess they aren't open for business for dinner. Anyway, Sunday morning, saw my friend online who happen to stay around the area, decided to ask her to go check it out if it was opened first. So luck was with me this time, my friend sms me the place was opened, decided to head down to check it out for my sunday breakfast.
I was there around 10+, the place was pretty empty. At the coffee shop, there's just 2 stalls (excluding the one selling drinks). The other stalls sells roasted meat mainly. From the stall, they sell both Penang prawn mee and lor mee. The prawn mee comes in $3 and $4. Decided to order the $4 portion. As the were no crowd, my bowl of noodle came pretty quickly. For a start, this is more like your traditional style prawn mee, not those big prawn mee style. You get slices of pork, prawns and kang kong. You also get a few small pieces of lard as well. For a start, you get chilli flakes instead of powder. The noodle I find it wasn't that great. The texture of the noodle seems a little under cook or something, and you still get the alkaline after taste in the noodle. The soup was quite sweet, which was not too bad.
Overall, I've not tasted an authentic penang prawn mee in Penang though, so if compared to the tradtional style of prawn mee we get, this is not too bad, but not exceptional though. So I do not see myself go there anytime soon though. For those who want to give it a try, it located beside the condo "The Linear".
PS : My friend who went earlier who was from Penang commented it wasn't good and worth only 1 star though. She claimed her mum cooks better prawn mee than that...hahhaa...

Actually wasn't planning to review this place as I did not take any photos that day. However, while clearing my wallet, saw I still have the receipt, decided to just write a short review instead. :)
Came here on Sunday for lunch with my friend. If not wrong, this Japanese restaurant chain originate from Singapore, and I've been to the Singapore branches a couple of times. Compared to other mass market Japanese restaurants like Sakae Sushi in Singapore, etc, I find this is one of the better ones actually.
I ordered a tempura seiro (RM20.90), which is actually tempura + soba. The tempera was not bad, however, I find the soba or texture a bit not as smooth though. I think is slightly sticky if not wrong.
We also ordered a sashimi mori hama (RM26.90), which is basically a sashimi platter for 2. The sashimi is generally fresh, which was quite ok. However, if remember correctly, the tuna was sold out, and was replaced with salmon instead. Total bill inclusive of green tea and 2 plates of sushi came up to RM66.90.
If we do a conversion to SGD, the price is definitely very cheap. However, if we do not convert, I think the price should be reasonable based on local standards if not wrong.
Overall, the quality is not too bad based on the price. Can't compare with Kampachi upstairs if one is looking for quality, but definitely a good value for money meal I guess within Pavilion.

The first time I had my first swee kee chicken rice when I was still a little boy. At that time, it was located at along middle road if not wrong, and I did not know it was that famous. It was my mum who brought me there for lunch while she went to a nearby shop to buy her baking stuff.
In recent years, seems to read about this Swee Kee on blogs and media. I believe I tried once called Sin Swee Kee or something awhile back, and wasn't really that impressed actually. So that day, while I was nearby, I noticed this Old Swee Kee, decided to pop by here to try out since I was a little hungry.
Similar to Sin Kee chicken rice at Margaret Drive food centre, the chicken are placed on trays instead of being hung together. Ordered a chicken drumstick rice. The drumstick was a bit on the dry side, not the tender kind that I prefer. Rice was ok, while the chilli was not too bad.
Overall, not very impressed with the chicken rice at this place actually. I rather go to those few chicken rice stalls at Albert Street temporary food centre instead.

Finally pop by here again to try the pork chop. At $6, you get 2 slabs of pork chop, one rather large, the other around half the size. You also get quite generous serving of fries, beans and a bun.
Wow! The pork chop here is really nice! There's a thick layer of fat at the edge of the pork chop. The pork chop is grilled such that the fatty portion is crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. When you bite the fatty portion in your mouth, can feel all the oil squirting inside ya mouth. hahahaah.... really yummy :) The meat itself is also very tender as well.
Really good pork chop!

this place has their speciality sambal beacan. should hv tried their mee goreng mamak style & nasi goreng with sambal belacan. they also add sambal belacan to their fried kuey teow.
the rest of the dishes i believe you have tried & yes...the fruit plate @ d end of the meal is pretty standard. been going to this place on a monthly basis for the last few years.

Came here for dinner yesterday. As my preferred Whitley Road prawn noodle was not opened, decided to eat at this stall. Realised they have introduced a clam + prawn noodle, which is something new. Decided to ordered one ($5) and try.
Basically, instead of your usual pork ribs + prawn, they just replaced the pork ribs with clams. I find the clams a bit tough or rubbery though, but nevertheless, the overall is still tasty.
